Your details,and what we do with them.
Jija is opening for Scouts across the United States. Right now the only personal information this website collects is what you type into the Scout waitlist form. This page says exactly what happens to it.
Version 2026-10-06
What we collect
If you join the Scout waitlist, we store your email address and your ZIP code, together with the date you joined, a label recording that the signup came from this website, and the version of this notice that was in force at the time.
That is the whole record. We do not collect your name, your phone number, your date of birth, your exact address, or how you found us. We do not ask for a password, because the waitlist is not an account.
Why we collect it
We use your email address to confirm that you are on the waitlist and to contact you about Scout availability as Jija opens up near you.
We use your ZIP code to understand where prospective Scouts already are and where we still need coverage. It tells us which areas to open next and where to concentrate recruitment. We use it in aggregate; it is not used to identify you or to work out where you live beyond the area the ZIP describes.
Joining the Scout waitlist does not subscribe you to a marketing newsletter, and we do not sell, rent or share your details with advertisers.
Technical information
When you submit the form, our API briefly uses the IP address the request arrives from to apply a rate limit, so that one source cannot flood the waitlist. That address is not stored alongside your signup and does not appear in our audit records.
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party trackers or fonts. There is nothing here to opt out of, which is why you have not been asked to.
Our hosting and infrastructure providers keep their own operational logs, in the ordinary way any website is served. Those are theirs rather than ours, and we do not combine them with your waitlist record.
How long we keep it
We keep a waitlist signup for 18 months from the day you join. After that, your email address and ZIP code are permanently deleted from our database automatically. We do not keep a copy, a hash, or a record that you were once on the list.
We also delete your signup earlier if you leave the waitlist, or if you go on to open a Jija Scout account, at which point the waitlist entry has served its purpose.
Deleted rows may persist for a short period in routine encrypted database backups until those backups age out on their own schedule. They are not used for any other purpose and are not restored to bring a deleted signup back.
Leaving the waitlist
Every confirmation email we send contains a Leave the waitlist link. Opening it shows a confirmation page, and pressing the button on that page deletes your email address and ZIP code straight away. You do not need an account, a password, or to speak to anybody.
The link opens a page rather than deleting immediately, because email scanners and link previewers follow links automatically and we do not want a security tool removing you from the list on your behalf.
If you no longer have the email, write to privacy1@jija.dev and we will remove you.
If you sign up again later, you rejoin as a new entry — leaving does not block you from coming back.
Who processes your information
To run the waitlist we rely on a small number of service providers:
- a website hosting provider, which serves these pages;
- a cloud infrastructure provider, which runs our API and the database your signup is stored in, in the United States;
- an email delivery provider, part of the same cloud infrastructure, which sends the confirmation email.
They process this information on our instructions in order to provide those services, and for nothing else.
Your choices
You can, at any time:
- leave the waitlist, which permanently deletes your email address and ZIP code — see above;
- ask what we hold about you, which for the waitlist is the record described at the top of this page;
- ask us to correct it — most usefully the ZIP code, since a repeat signup deliberately does not overwrite the first one;
- ask a question or complain about how we have handled it.
Write to privacy1@jija.dev and a person will answer. Depending on where you live, local law may give you further rights over your personal information, and may give you the right to complain to a regulator.
Changes to this notice
Each waitlist signup records the version of this notice that was in force when it was made, so a later edit does not quietly change what you agreed to. This version is 2026-10-06.
